Seattle Temple

Last week Pete kicked me out of the house to go to the temple. It was a much needed reprieve from my daily responsibilities. With Pete in school I don't often get the opportunity to go out by myself. I took my camera in hopes that I would get an opportunity to take some pictures of the temple with the fall colors. At first it was rainy and gloomy but when I came out it was spectacular. The sky was this beautiful brillant blue filled with the perfect white fluffy clouds and the colors on the trees was just breath taking. I really love these pictures and I am not comfortable with architecture or landscape photography. I have really been practicing in these areas, I am sure someone with a better eye could pick out whats wrong with them but I really like them.

SPU Fall

I know I know I havn't been around in awhile. Isaac is at that age where he really just doesn't want me on the computer. He either cries or grabs at the computer when I am on it so it makes it pretty difficult to get on regularly. Well last week Tracey (my neighbor) and I took the kids out for walk, they really needed to get out. The fall colors and campus are so beautiful I had to bring my camera and I am really glad that I did. I love the campus here as I just think it is so beautiful. As usual Gabby is a goof, she hates me taking her picture unless I am trying to take a picture of someone else. Aiden seriously I love, he actually asks me to take his picture when I have my camera out and he is so photogenic. So is Maggie, I love her beautiful blue eyes and want so bad to do a photoshoot with her. So Tracey lets get on it.

We are really loving Seattle much more than we thought we would. This is definately the right place for us to be right now in this stage in our life. I am excited about the future and what it has to hold for us. Though I do have to say with Thanksgiving coming up I am feeling the lonelyness of not having family close by. I was tempted to see if Pete would be up for driving home for the holiday's but the more I think about it the more I know it's not possible. We miss you all at home and are definately thinking of you.

Halloween Festivities

Halloween is my favorite time of year. I love it and we had so much fun this year. It was the first year where Gabby really got it, costumes, trick or treating, candy, and fun. She was so excited that her enthusiasm really spilled over on me. So here are just a few pictures of our festivities. Gabby loves her costume and the great thing about it is I can use her tulle skirt for a fun photoshoot with a little girl.

Our friends loaned us their spider costume for Isaac and I have to say he makes such a cute spider. He wouldn't wear the hat and I barely managed to get a picture of him with it on but seriously cute. And despite his size he was caught up in the exictment too. We went trunk or treating in the church parking lot and there was lots of excitment to get caught up in.

After trunk or treating we came back to our place and had a spooky Halloween dinner with our friends. We had worms for brains, jack o'lantern fruit bowls, witches fingers, and mummy dogs. Looks like fun huh. This was my first themed dinner and it was a lot of work but lots of fun and the kids liked it.

Isaac

We had some sun peak through the other day and so I had to take advantage of it and get out. It was just Isaac and I so I decided to do some pictures of him. I know I may be biased or have mommy goggles but seriously he is one good looking boy, I just love him and his personality. I know I say it alot but I still can't get over watching him walking around, my baby boy wants to be a little man and I am so not ready for it. He definately takes after my side of the family as he paces all over the house, he reminds me alot of my brothers.

Vintage Fairy | Seattle Family Photographer

I don't know why but I am drawn to the vintage soft look of photographs, I just love the feel of them. So I had to play with this and see what I could do and I think I am in love. Hope you like it as much as I do.

Happy Halloween! | Seattle Family Photographer

I decided this year I was going to make Gabby's Halloween costume which I was afraid was going to be a huge undertaking for me. I found this really cute no sew fairy pattern at Jo Ann's and decided I would go for it. Gabby decided she wanted to be Tinkerbell and this pattern I thought would translate well into Tinkerbell although Gabby keeps telling me her shirt doesn't look like that, and her wings don't have flowers mom. She thinks she knows it all, oh well she still likes it even if it doesn't look exactly like Tink. I finally finished it and did an impromptu shoot today. These pictures don't do the costume any justice but they are still cute. The best part is the tulle skirt that you can't see very well, it's green, yellow, and white and they are beautiful together. Now she can't wait for Halloween. I keep thinking I need to make Isaac Peter Pan but he is going to be a spider instead curtesy of our friends. I will show pictures of him with his once I get the costume.

Fremont Bridge | Seattle Photographer

Just down the hill from us is the canal and there is this really great trail that runs along the canal. I have come to be pretty fond of walking down there with the kids and watching the boats. The other day I invited Gabby's friends to come with us. So it was me and 4 kids and 1 stroller, so the stroller was a sit and stand and I pushed all 4 kids on in the stroller. Talk about a workout physical and mental (3 of them fought over sitting in one seat). I thought it would be fun to walk to the bridge which is about a 10 minute walk. We were fortunate that as soon as we got there, there was a sailboat wanting to go under the bridge so we got to watch the bridge go up. Gabby was so excited and just sat in awe watching the whole thing. We are still getting used to being around this stuff on a regular basis and we are loving it.

Saltaire Utah

The week before we moved to Seattle I went to one last get together with all my Photography buddies and did a photo shoot out at Saltaire. It was so much fun to get to say goodbye to some of my buddies (who I miss terrible). I just finally got around to editing these and getting them up on my blog. This location was pretty cool, I am sad it will be a long time before I get to shoot there again. To all my Utah Pea friends I miss you and love all the work you guys have been doing.

Seattle Adventures

I finally have some time to work on my own personal pictures. I know you all have been waiting for an update with pictures. We enrolled Gabby in preschool and she loves it. She has been waiting along time to go to school and she looks forward to it every chance she gets. She her new bestfriend goes to school with her too, her name is Maggie and she lives across the street from us. These two sure have a lot of fun together, in fact sometimes I think Gabby would rather be a part of her family instead of ours. We are fortunate that she has a friend her age across the street.
Ok seriously this picture is so cute, I just had to share it. She is growing so fast and getting to be more and more beautiful everyday.

We went to the Space Needle last week and it was pretty cool. The view was just amazing, I can't wait to get to go at night and see the city lights. So I made an attempt to do a family picture, I held the camera out at arms length and snapped. So the kids weren't interested at all as you can tell and I barely managed to get myself in the picture but at least I tried.

We went downtown and took the kids to the aquarium, it was amazing and they loved it. Afterwards we went out on the boardwalk to let the kids run free. The views in Seattle are amazing but nothing compares to my beautiful family.

Last week we went to Pike Place Market and it was so cool. Seriously I have never shopped like that before. It was crazy busy, the flowers were beautiful, and the fruit looked delicious and oh so good. I can't wait to get to go back without the kids so I can just take my time and snap away. I need to get over my fear of taking pictures of people though. Anyone have any tips on how to photograph random strangers without feeling dumb? Ok off to work on some more pictures.

Dilworth | Family Photography

This is my sister in laws cute cute family. We really miss getting to see them and Gabby just can't stop talking about her cousins. I have to admit this was a tough session and we didn't think we had gotten anything but I am really happy with the way these turned out. For those of you who don't know my sister in laws family their oldest is autistic and their baby has a very rare genitic disorder and well Hank is Hank, he's all boy. I think that Sherry is a super mom, seriously, she is amazing with the challenges she faces each day. I look up to her and admirer her and hope to be as good a mom as she is. I am really glad I got to do your family pictures before we moved. I know it was crazy but it was so worth it. Love you guys.

Knight Family | Family Photographer

I'm really working hard on getting all the pictures I took the last two weeks in Utah and I am getting so close. Taylor I hope you like your sneak peak! Yeah I am done and you will get these soon. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to do your pictures.

Springer | Family Photographer

Oh Daiana you are so going to love me! Your pictures are done and I think they turned out great. Here is another sneak peak and of course I had to show you how cute Lelia is in her costume.

Jared and Peter grew up together (next door neighbors) and Pete often tells me Jared was instumental in keeping him in line and him turning out the way he did. We lived next door to them for the summer before we left for Seattle and had a great time with them. It was fun for me to get to know some of Pete's friends and hear about his childhood. We really miss our sunday sit long, talk much's. We just don't know what to do with ourselfs on sundays anymore.

Brogan | Family Photographer

Before I left Utah I was able to photograph the cutest little 6 month old. He has the most beautiful eyes and lips and the cutest red hair. These were so fun to edit as nearly every picture was perfect, such an easy happy baby to photograph. I wish my little guy were this easy. Hope you like them Amy, I had so much fun hanging out with you and look forward to you coming to visit us in Seattle.

Salt Lake Temple | Landscape Photography

I have been giving a try at some landscape photography and just loved the way these pictures turned out. I love the Salt Lake Temple, I just think it is one of the most beautiful buildings to photograph and was glad that I got to photograph it before we left Utah.

Abby's Baptism | Family Photographer

My friends daughter is getting baptized in October and I was able to do her pictures. I loved getting to shoot at the Salt Lake Temple as I haven't had the opportunity to do it before. Abby's was great to work with and she is such a beautiful girl in her white dress. Thanks Tonya for giving me this opportunity. I am so glad we got to spend some time together before we moved to Seattle. Abby I am so excited for your baptism, wish we could be there to celebrate this great day with you. Gabby says she misses you and wants you to come visit us.
